Curriculum

At Silver Crest School, we strongly believe that education should be holistic and foster both a child’s academic ability and their character and we deliver this through our robust curriculum.
Our nursery school caters for children aged 4 months to 5 years and we offer the British Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum with an infusion of some Montessori principles and resources.
For our primary school we utilize a unique blend of the British and Nigerian Curricula.
We also offer skill acquisition and a variety of co-curricular programs.

Nursery

We believe that education must correspond with the child’s developmental needs. The British Early Years framework encourages a love of learning, critical thinking and problem solving which helps each child build lifelong learning skills. Our well-trained teachers encourage the children to make their own choices and decisions using age-appropriate materials that stimulate their curiosity and inquisitiveness.
We believe that children learn best through play therefore, we intentionally guide and extend a children’s play to ensure they achieve key developmental milestones across these learning domains:

  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts

Technology is an important part of our lesson delivery. Our classrooms are equipped with 21st century digital learning techniques with various interesting, manipulative and challenging educational resources that help bring out the creativity of your child.
The children are also taught all core values to young, growing minds such as: the importance of good manners, hygiene and healthy habits.
